Xgrid agent in FreeBSD 8.1

I have several Apple OSX machines and several FreeBSD machines.
I would like to couple them into a grid, using the Xgrid framework from Apple.

On my Apple machines this is quite easy by doing point and click.
The following assumes that you have set up your Apple machines in a Xgrid already.
The following IP address is the Xgrid controller: 10.6.6.115
The following IP address is the FreeBSD machine which becomes a part of the grid: 10.6.6.12

Create a user for the Xgrid agent:

Do a shell script which both finds the CPU speed and keeps the agent running…..

See http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/users-limiting.html
on how to limit the system resources for the user account.

Hmmm, the java client on BSD is not very stable …. but it works.
